We sailed on Carnival Splendour in July 2008 after being told by so many people this is the "fun ships",i would'nt totally agree with this because i felt it was very much aimed at Americans, but being an American company you should kinda expect this.
The 2 production shows were fantastic, but we were a bit disapointed that after booking the late sitting for dinner to give us time to make the most of our days they had a lot of the theatre shows for late dinners before meals defeating the purpose i felt.
The food was good on board and plenty choice, the staff were all excellent i felt apart from 1 or 2 on the lido bar that looked a bit sad,but maybe finding it hard being away from family and loved one's.
Even thou i'm not a smoker myself i loved the Robust bar, found it very relaxing but found the Piano bar again for the Americans.
The cabins were very nice, good size and our steward was 1st class at making up our room.
Overall i did enjoy the cruise and would recomend to other people but feel personally that Royal Caribbean have that edge over Carnival.
