I normally hire a boat and enjoy a relaxing trip on a River, where I can moore at leisure, sip a good glass of wine and enjoy the company of my family and friends. Last year, we decided to experiment on a different type of holiday and ventured to book a cruise. I must immediately admit that this was an unforgetable experience. I did not tie up the boat this time, but wondered how such magnifecent ships are controlled! I was hesitant since the cruise duration was longer than the duration of our normal holiday- a 13 day cruise. Believe it or not, I just did not realise how fast the days rolled by and could not believe that we had spent this period enjoying every second. The food was abundant and delicious. There was a daily variety of samptous deserts and admittedly had some difficulty in controlling my apetite. Evening shows were professional, varied and entertaining. I cannot forget Mr. Dick Little and his yellow underpants! John the entertainer and organiser was excellent and somehow made you feel at home. Well done John, you made every day a memorable one indeed. Carnival organisation is great, from the time we presented our embarkation cards to the very last moment, when we found back our luggage neatly placed on quay for collection. The rooms were impeccably clean. I must admit that at times photographers, altough extremely polite were somewhat too invasive, when at times you simply smile for the snap, knowing very well that you cannot afford to buy them all! Photos are somewhat expensive too. Unfortuneatley, I got hooked to this type of holiday, and we are already planning our next holiday in 2009. I would recommend it to all my friends....after all we only live once and life is too short!
