Myleene Set To Name Carnival Splendor

Myleene Klass, the former Hearsay singer, will name Carnival Splendor at a ceremony in Dover on 10th July. Splendor will be the largest ever passenger ship to cruise from the port of Dover – at 113,000 tonnes, with a 4,914 passenger capacity. A bottle of Nyetimber English Sparkling Wine will be used to christen the ship, rather than the traditional champagne.

Carnival Splendor will follow the ceremony with a three-day preview cruise to Amsterdam, before sailing back to Dover on 13th July. After this, she will begin her inaugural voyage – a twelve day Baltic cruise. Gerry Cahill, Carnival Cruise president and chief executive, said, “Myleene is the perfect Godmother to name Splendor, with her many talents complementing the many features on the ship.”
